Some of the
questions we hear from both private equity groups and business owners are covered here:
Private Equity Groups:
Q:
How do you decide on which client you will choose when you find a quality acquisition candidate?
A: We don't have to make that decision based on our process. We
make each initial contact on behalf of one client. Therefore, we've made that decision prior to talking with
a target company on behalf of our client.
Q: How many transaction
opportunities should we expect to see from MPI?
A: We seek to close at least one platform acquisition with a client every twelve to eighteen
months. For clients seeking smaller companies, the deal flow will be more per month than clients seeking companies with
EBITDA over $7 million. For add-ons, it simply depends on how many transactions our client and the management team desire.
Q: How does MPI price your services?
A:
We are paid a monthly retainer fee and a success fee for deals that close. Please call for details.
Business Owners:
Q: How can I be sure I'm getting a good valuation and deal structure
for my company?
A: Today's market is
highly efficient. Our clients know that unless they value your company at their best value, the deal is unlikely to
complete. Therefore, our clients step up with fully valued offers that get deals done. Also, there are many advisers
who will consult with you as to the value of your company and confirm that the deal structure and value is a fair. Please
see the section of our web site entitled "Sellers" for more detailed information on why choosing this path is superior
to putting your company on the market and using an investment banker.
Q:
Can this be kept confidential?
A: Yes. Confidentiality
is our business, and our clients understand how important it is as well.
